View up a Frigiliana street
The village of Frigiliana is one of the pueblos blancos (white-washed villages) for which Andalucia is well known. Its old quarter with cobbled, car free streets is a popular tourist destination. It has numerous cafes and restaurants, arty souvenir shops and many ordinary village shops. In the newer part is a chemist and small supermarket. Frigiliana has the nearest cash machines (cajeros) and bakery. Market day is Thursday morning. In the heat of summer the cool and shady streets can be a welcome relief.
